People ask what the monthly member sessions are like before they join, which is fair. Here is the honest version.
The format
Ninety minutes. One topic, chosen by members. A short framing from whoever brought it, then discussion. Roughly a dozen people, so everybody talks.
Nothing is recorded and nothing is attributed outside the room. That single rule does more for the quality of the conversation than anything else we do. People describe what actually happened at their organization rather than the version that has been through legal.
What gets discussed
Recent sessions have covered board reporting that does not put people to sleep, what to do when a budget is cut mid-year, how to run the first ninety days in a new CISO seat, and the specific mechanics of saying no to a CEO.
Notice what is missing: no product evaluations, no threat-intel briefings, no tooling debates. Those conversations are well served elsewhere. The problems that keep security executives awake are almost never technical.
Who is in the room
Sitting CISOs, deputy CISOs, and senior security leaders on the path to the seat. We keep the mix deliberate — a room of people at exactly the same career stage is a support group, not a network. The value is in the gap between where you are and where the person two chairs over already went.
